Details:

The tiny dragonfly flies around in a circle, to the beautiful tune of “La Valse d’Amélie” by Yann Teiersen.
This wonderful storybox is set inside the body of an early 1900’s wooden faux inlaid box. I have utilsed the wonderful original rayon padded base, in beautiful sky blue. To the base of the opening, I have attached an upturned vintage ebony and natural bristle clothes brush as vegitation, and it is interspersed with tiny handmade bullrushes and foliage. Amngst these a tiny handmade Kingfisher can also be found, sitting upon a tree branch. He is staring intently at the tiny dragonfly, flying loop-da-loop . The dragonfly is crafted from wire, and painted. His tiny wings sparkle in light. He is attached my a wire to the turning mechanism, and at the end of the wire can be found the tiniest of seed pearls. To the top and bottom of the scene, the words “As kingfishers catch fire, dragonflies draw flame” are stamped on to antique blue leather. It is approximately 32cm long, 17cm high and 7cm deep.
