I adore these tiny antique carved bone elephants that I use in my elephant love storybox keepsakes, but I find them incredibly hard to find on such minuscule scale (about 1.2cm long!!). I once asked a repeat seller where they came from, and she said she had inherited an antique necklace, and taken them individually from there, but I have never seen or found one, until this week!
And what a touching little necklace it is, with a metal locket at the bottom. This one contains locks of someone’s hair – a memento mori. After all, elephants never forget!
