“I saw a Mouse” Storybox

Past Pieces

“I saw a mouse” Storybox is features an exquisite, tiny 1930’s painted metal mouse (possibly lead), standing by a window (1950’s painted metal from a dolls house), overlooking fields of poppies, cornflowers and corn, on to his windmill – all a miniature embroidery from the 1930’s. It is set within a 1930’s sample tin, which, when closed, measures 9cm x 9cm (excluding fixed handle). Inside the lid, some of the words to “A Windmill in Old Amsterdam” are printed on to silk, and an antique baby blue striped quilt piece. Below this I have hand-embroidered cornflowers and a poppy from vintage silk thread.
