One Day I’ll Fly Away II

“One Day I’ll Fly Away”, Duckling Storybox. The sweetest little tufty headed duckling, who is circa early 1900’s, and is a composition plaster body, on tiny metal legs, probably made by Putz in Germany. He is looking up at the Daisy petal floating away on the breeze, thinking “One day I will fly away”, and he will. The Daisy is hand-embroidered, with the centre made from vintage silk thread french knots, and the petals from rare early 1900’s tiny 2mm ombre ribbon, in this case in shades of pale pink. This is embroidered on to antique delicate cotton in a grey blue, from a tablecloth. The lid underside houses the words, which are typed on to the same antique grey blue tablecloth, with a vintage typewriter. These, in turn, are hand-stitched on to a tiny piece of timeworn quilt fragment, from the 1930’s. It is all set within a 1920’s Oxo tin, and measures 6.5cm x 8.5cm when open.
