“The Breach”, Whale Sculpture, is looking to depart these waters and find a new home!
This gorgeous little humpback whale is emerging from driftwood, which has been hand painted as an ocean. The whale herself is made from an antique metal watering can head, adorned with vintage beads for her lumps and bumps to her head. Her tiny eyes are winders from the sides of antique early 1900’s pocket watches. The flippers are reworked antique carved knives.
The wake she causes as she breaches, is a tiny piece of Edwardian vintage silk scarf from the early 1900’s. The buoy floating nearby is a vintage child’s wooden miniature spinning top.
The whole piece stands on an antique ebony wood base, originally for a glass clock dome.
The general size is approximately 21cm deep x 20cm high x 30cm long (approximate – it is a little hard to measure!).
Made entirely from vintage, antique and found objects.
