“The Wanderer” is set inside a vintage maths classroom timer case, which is a beautifully distressed cream painted metal. The background is a wonderful watercolour from the 1920’s, showing a mountain scene.
The little bear is looking in to the distance – he is a 1930’s vintage lead toy figure. The tree is a 1950’s shotgun barrel cleaning brush. Little heather bushes are hand-embroidered wire, placed on to the green antique velvet ribbon grass, which has been brushed and set the against its pile, to make an uneven grass effect.
The words “not all those who wander are lost” are by JRR Tolkien, and are sculpted from wire.
Measures approximately 16cm tall, including the the little vintage copper leaf to the top, and 14cm at its widest point. This has been made with repurposed vintage materials, which may show signs of being timeworn.
